This blog is a way for me to keep track of all things photo — books, magazines, artists, websites, blogs, zines, anything remotely related to looking through a viewfinder. I’ll be posting as well the occasional vintage snapshots I stumble across at flea markets in and around my hometown San Francisco.
You can learn more about me on my website.
Thanks for stopping by.

Hi Jeanne,
I came across the short article about the Nov ’07 Arts Commission show by chance. I sent a comment before I figured out who you are. Apologies.
S’wanyway, a couple of things: I have a monograph about my work completed but looking for a publisher. Any ideas? It’s written by Aaron Kerner (a curator – his latest project is a show at SF Cameraworks -Katsushige Nakahashi: The Depth Of Memory – the opening’s Tues 15th Jan, 5 – 8).
And, of course, if you’d be interested in some (v.low key) dialogue, let me know.
Best,
Ian.
Howdy…I used to work at CBS too. Your website is beautiful…. i have several of interest to photo/design folks, i’m sure you’d enjoy following one or two. Dull Tool in particular, maybe the others (addresses below)

“Dull Tool Dim Bulb” is a quirky but serious look at art, photography and culture in the digital age. Now over 150 entries long, each dealing with curious aspect of collecting, commerce and culture, it is a noteworthy contribution to a world seriously skewed. Dull Tool Dim Bulb discusses shape, surface, form, wear and authenticity in art, antiques and photography. The author’s first book of his antique photography collection “Take Me to the Water: Immersion Baptism in Vintage Music and Photography 1890-1950″ will be published in April 2009 by Dust to Digital, an award winning house in Atlanta. With contributions by Grammy award winner Lance Ledbetter, writer Luc Sante and Jim Linderman, this is a 100 page book of vernacular photos and a CD of historic songs and sermons, a perfect mix of image, sound and history. Four books follow! If eccentric beauty is worth the free price of admission, these sites are for you.
